Introduction

Greeting

As people's living standard has been improved in 1970s in Japan, the safety of chemical substances in daily life and environmental pollution became social issues. The "Cosmetic Materials Council " was established in June 1974 with the guidance and cooperation of various government agencies, based on the belief that it was the social mission of cosmetic ingredient companies to respond to these issues.

In 1989, the Association was renamed the "Japan Cosmetic Suppliers Association" to reflect its growing membership. Currently, the Association has its secretariat in the Tokyo metropolitan area, with the cooperation of about 150 member companies that sell and manufacture cosmetic raw materials, including overseas companies with business sites in Japan. Our activities aim at educating and addressing various issues related to cosmetic raw materials.

We will not only contribute to the cosmetics industry, which is becoming more and more internationalized but also contribute to the development of the industry through cooperation with overseas organizations and institutions with the cooperation of government agencies.
